It's purpose is to introduce new users to the available functions, and to answer frequently asked questions.

PURPOSE
=======
Gomde@yahoogroups.com is a mailing list for those who are associated with Rangjung Yeshe Gomde internationally, both retreat centers as well as local study and practice groups. Inspired by Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and his lineage, the spiritual heads of Rangjung Yeshe Gomde are Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche. Please post info and news of general importance.

Q1. Hello, my email address has changed, can you please update it.

A1. You can do it yourself in a variety of ways:

a) The best way:
(i) Go to the home page of gomde@yahoogroups.com, you find it at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gomde
(ii) Sign in if necessary. [How do I do this? Check Q3 below!]
(iii) Click "Account Info" in the upper right of the window.
(iv) There is an "Edit" button somwhere on the page to change
email address. Click it.
(v) Update the alternative address to match your new adress.
(vi) Make sure you click the links/buttons for saving the changes.

b) The primitive way.
(i) From your old email address, send a message to
gomde-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
(ii) And then from your new email address, send a message to
gomde-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Q2. What is a Yahoo ID?

A2. A Yahoo ID is a user name needed to access various functionality of Yahoo.
In our case it is needed to access the web pages associaded with this
mailing list found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gomde

Q3. So how do I get a Yahoo ID then?

A3. Start with going to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gomde/

(i) Click "Join this Group"
(ii) Click "Sign Up Now"
(iii) Fill out the fields and follow the instructions.

Q4. How do I post a message to the group?

A4. Simply send a mail to gomde@yahoogroups.com, it will automatically
reach all 312 members.

Q5. I've posted a message with an attachment, but nobody gets the attachment. Why?
A5. To avoid viruses and other trouble with nasty attachments, all attachments are silently stripped from messages. You can upload files and pictures to the groups home page and announce them with an email.

Q6. I have a question that is not listed here, how can I get an answer?

A6. Send a mail to the moderator at gomde-owner@yahoogroups.com

Please don't send virus warnings, chain letters, or other off-topic messages to this list.
