Three Rituals to Remove Obstacles
"The Perfection of Wisdom, the White Parasol Lady,
and the Lion-Faced Lady"
The Discourse on the Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom
This discourse, the heart of the one hundred thousand verses on the
Perfection of Wisdom, is the ground and mother of all Enlightened Ones
that appear throughout the three times. This profound discourse is the
supreme way of bestowing blessings. Thus, having practiced this profound
discourse the leader of the gods of the past, Indra (one of the chief
protectors of the Enlightened One’s teaching), overcame all unfavourable
conditions, such as the obstructing spirit Mara. Therefore, when one
practices it, or requests someone else to practice it, one will accomplish
nothing short of this. Through the profundity of this supreme discourse
whatever happens in life will be beneficial.
The Lady with the White Parasol
This particular goddess, the White-Clad Lady (Pandaravasini), carries
an intensely wrathful appearance. When meditating on and doing the recitation
of this goddess she manifests in the centre of the crest ornament of
the Exalted One, without him having uttered anything. All troublesome
obstructive conditions, such as magical dark forces, will henceforth
be stopped. Of all the discourses, recitations, etc., available, this
exceptional meditation and recitation practice was a particularly revered
liturgy held in high esteem and practiced by many accomplished scholars
of India and Tibet. Practicing this meditation and recitation, which
turns back sickness, dark forces, curses, and evil sorcery, is like
brandishing a diamond sword. For someone who wishes to journey to the
heavens of great bliss it can be likened to riding on the lord of birds,
the garuda. Thus, if one takes on the tantric commitments of this particular
meditation and recitation, a practice that ensures that all that happens
in one’s life will be beneficial, or one requests someone else
to do it, one will accomplish the welfare of both oneself and all other
sentient beings.
The Lion-Faced Lady
The practice of the Lion-Faced Lady is used for turning back negative
forces. One may employ this practice of the Lion-Faced Lady for this
purpose when there are hostile forces that obstruct the prosperity of
our teacher-master relationship, or when one experiences harmful obstructing
conditions. In short, this exceptional pith instruction will turn back
any type of negative inauspicious circumstances.
